Affordable places to stay in Barbados

Long before the emergence of AirBNB and Booking.com, the Caribbean island of Barbados was offering affordable accommodation for visitors through the Intimate Hotels of Barbados.

This unique collection of island hotels, self-catering vacation apartments, villas, and guesthouses gives visitors a wide range of lodging options at an affordable price. There truly is something here for every taste, requirement and budget.

The hotels offer the features and amenities you expect from modern accommodation, while maintaining the personal service and genuine hospitality of a small, family hotel.

Vacation apartments are perfect for those on a longer stay or who prefer to save by preparing their own meals occassionally during their vacation. These properties typically give you more room to relax and greater privacy than a traditional hotel room.

Guesthouses usually are the most affordable option. Some have shared facilities (like a shared kitchen or lounge area) while others offer self-contained units. In addition to being the most budget-friendly, these guesthouses, inns and B&Bs give you the best opportunity to mingle with other guests.

More About Intimate Hotels Barbados

Intimate Hotels is an association of small properties that includes all of the above categories. They are small hotels and resorts, condos, self-catering apartments, and villas. The association provides an umbrella organisation and helps with marketing, bookings, and representation of the sector to government, suppliers and the travel community.

It is a non-profit and part of the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association (BHTA) with the goal of bringing together the “smaller, independent, indigenous owned hotels and apartments in a cooperative environment in order to effect sustainable growth in product and service quality through the facilitation of marketing and management services.”  Over 45 properties from all sectors and locations around the island of Barbados are part of the Intimate Hotels group.

While they represent every aspect of Barbados lifestyle, character and culture they are all part of a recognized trademark that “symbolizes uniqueness, quality personalised service, reliability, affordability, comfort and offers a truly Barbadian experience.”

This is one of four lighthouses in Barbados, each special in its own way. If you are visiting Barbados be sure to make a stop at Ragged Point and enjoy the scenes and the lovely fresh air! Escape To The Crane, Barbados

Experience the ultimate beach vacation and soak up the Caribbean sunshine of one of Barbados' best beaches when you escape to The Crane . Relax on a lounger , with refreshing coconut drink in hand, as the invigorating tradewinds sway the palms lining the beach. Enjoy the soothing sound of the waves washing onto sandy pink-tinged shores . The clear turquoise waters invite you in for a swim , or to boogie board on the foamy waves. Although not encouraged, adventurous souls do like cliff jumping into the ocean from a natural platform reached by following a path along the cliff face.  For the more adventurous it is a thrill, they enjoy the freedom and sense of escape of letting go and being carefree. But you dont have to jump to feel that sense of abandonment and escape. You can just relax on the beach, float in the water or ride the waves to enjoy that sense of liberation, freedom and joy of being close to nature and away for the bustle of daily duty. This cliffside...
